Innsworth Technology Park Limited (ITP) was established in 1981 by Directors - cousins George Dowty and Edward Dowty. For many years they ran an engineering business on the site of Innsworth Technology Park. When other businesses vacated the site the opportunity arose to acquire a Lease.

At that time the 10 acre Innsworth Site comprised large older Industrial Buildings and vacant land. In running their own businesses the Dowty’s had firsthand experience of the difficulties that start-ups and small business have in finding suitable premises on reasonable terms.

The site was named ‘Innsworth Technology Park’ and the buildings sub-divided to provide the locality with much needed space for small businesses. Throughout the following 10 years the vacant land on ITP was developed into blocks of industrial units, warehousing and offices all of which were made available for letting. Since 1981 Innsworth Technology Park has had an occupancy rate of nearly 100%.

Many successful companies have started on ITP before moving on and making way for the newcomers. Activity ranges from Engineering, CNC Machining, Honing, Steel fabrication, IT Businesses, Printing,Computer repair, Clothing manufacture, MOT centres, Fork Lift truck servicing, Signmaking, Recruitment, Chartered Surveyor and many more…

Amongst the many successful companies who have started at ITP are Clarkson Evans Ltd, Central Roofing and Cladding Ltd, QME Limited, Charlton Kings Fabrications Ltd, Clearway Aluminium Ltd.

With ITP bursting at the seams and no more land to develop at Innsworth the Directors decided to find another local site. A Lease was taken on Land adjacent to Gloucestershire Airport and named ‘Meteor Business Park’. In 1999 this was developed into 7 industrial units and immediately let.

In 2003 a Lease was taken on a second site at Meteor Business Park by ITP Developments Ltd (Subsidiary of Innsworth Technology Park Ltd) This was developed into 6 Industrial with offices together with a high quality Business Centre named ‘Lancaster Centre’. All space was let on completion.

In 2006 a new Business Park will be opened at Bamfurlong Lane, Cheltenham. This site is adjacent to Gloucestershire Airport and will provide 5 new high quality industrial units with offices.

Further new developments are planned for the future with the aim of providing Cheltenham and Gloucester with high quality well located business premises.
